Franchise Advisory Board

To keep its finger squarely on the pulse of tens of thousands of Franchise Owners around the world, Unicity selects a few Franchise Owners of varied professional backgrounds to serve on a Board of Advisors in each of the company's operating markets. These individuals are invited to serve based on their track records of success, outstanding leadership skills, and willingness to share their experiences for the benefit of others.  Members of the Boards of Advisors volunteer their time and expertise to ensure that Unicity offers the products, training, and direction needed for Franchise Owners to thrive in their respective marketplaces.

Janet Bloom
Jan served as Chief Administrator and Marketing Director for a large Family Medicine Practice in Boca Raton, Florida for more than 12 years.

In 1992 she founded Natural Health Concepts, Inc, a company dedicated to educating and training healthcare professionals on breakthrough technologies in the field of Preventive and Complementary Medicine.

Her strength came in creating systems and teaching healthcare providers how to successfully implement the latest nutritional strategies available for their patients.

Jan is an accomplished speaker and trainer and has authored several educational CD's. She has been highly recognized for her successful leadership and business development as a consultant with The Bios Life Franchise, a division of Unicity International. Jan serves as both co-chairman of the Medical Advisory Board and is also a member of the prestigious North American Franchise Board.

Burma Hicks
Burma Hicks is a Certified Natural Health Professional and Master Herbalist. For the past 17 years, she has owned and operated an herb shop in a one-stoplight town in Rainsville , Alabama . Her focus has always been on selling Unicity's uniquely-formulated products, and she moves thousands of dollars in product every month. In fact, the success of Unicity products in her store has been so great that she can barely keep them stocked! Burma uses kinesiology (muscle testing) to evaluate overall health and then suggests products that will meet a person's supplementation needs.

Burma is now serving on the Presidential Advisory Board. Burma loves to travel throughout the United States holding training meetings to educate people on the use of supplements. She has also trained with Unicity abroad in the Philippines, the former Soviet Union, Mexico, and Canada.

Rick Jordan
Rick Jordan has been involved in Unicity since January 1993 and has built his business on a part-time basis. His business investments include an insurance agency, a state-of-the-art hand car wash, a 900+ unit self-storage business, and partnerships in several fast food restaurants. Rick has achieved the Presidential Diamond level in Unicity and currently serves on Unicity's Board of Advisors.

Rick graduated from Brigham Young University with a major in Interpersonal Communications. He is active in Rotary International and Boy Scouts of America and has served on the boards of the Independent Insurance Agents, Long Beach Camp Fire and Maui Eldorado Resort. Rick enjoys surfing, marathon running, SCUBA diving and playing golf. He and his wife Lori live in Laguna Niguel , California , and are the parents of 8 children and 2 grandchildren.

Darlene Long
Darlene is a Canadian with a strong and diverse background in business and customer relations.  Her expertise includes production and quality control, human resources, contract negotiating, employee relations, job implementation, customer services and all  aspects of accounting. She pioneered as the first woman in the heavy construction field in Canada and also owned an award winning Custom Design Homebuilding company. In 1988 Darlene became the first female member of Rotary International paving the way for women in Rotary today. Darlene is also a certified facilitator for Time Management and Personal Excellence with the Pacific Institute.

Darlene began her career with Unicity in 1993 and achieved the rank of Presidential Director in 1998. She is a driving force with this company in Canada and the Northern United States.

Today combined with a keen understanding of Nutrition, strong caring interpersonal skills, clear vision of marketing strategies and established business expertise, she is moving forward with a New Business Plan, leading edge research, and cutting edge products. Darlene is committed  to improve the education of society, coach individuals to their highest potential and impact today’s fastest growing industry, Health and Wellness.

Neal Secrist, D.O.
Dr. Secrist served two tours with the United States Air Force as a Flight Surgeon accomplishing hundreds of flight hours in numerous jets including the F-16 Fighter, B-1B Bomber, T-38 and T-37 Trainers, KC-135 Tankers, etc.

Having been an Emergency Physician for over a decade, he now enjoys Family Practice and is board certified in that specialty. Although his highest passion is true primary prevention, he also has an eagle-eye focus on total health assessments and early disease detection.

Being both an author and a prominent speaker, he travels both domestically and internationally teaching, coaching, and motivating individuals to succeed in their personal health through prevention. Dr. Secrist’s passion for preventive health also extends to medical missions where he leads teams to help spread the good news to developing countries such as Bolivia, Nepal, and Mexico.

He is married, has two beautiful girls, and enjoys the diversions of flying, scuba and sailing as well as international cultural living.

Todd Smith
Todd Smith has been with Unicity since September 1991 and is currently the #1 income earner in North America. In total, his business has paid him more than $20 million in net income.  For 13 of his 14 years with Unicity, Todd has served on the Presidential Advisory Board and has played an integral role in the design and development of all leadership-supported training programs and many of the top-selling sales and marketing tools.

Prior to a career in direct sales, Todd was one of the nation's top realtors, selling more than 100 homes per year and earning a mid-six-figure income; he is also one of the youngest individuals to ever qualify for Re/Max's “Hall of Fame.”

Todd strives for excellence in the things he values. He is extremely disciplined and conducts himself and his business with honor and integrity.  Todd's strengths include goal setting, time management, and professional focus, and he loves helping others achieve their own goals.  Todd has helped thousands of customers and independent business owners improve their lives through Unicity's business and products.

Ron Thomson
Ron Thomson has been actively engaged with the BiosLife Franchise since September 1991 and has developed an international business that spans fourteen countries.
 
Prior to Ron owning his own BiosLife Franchise his background was in both insurance and real estate.  The transition to direct sales was a natural fit and gives him the flexibility to own his own home based business and the freedom to be able to enjoy life.
 
Ron resides in Tampa Florida with his wife and three grown children of which two are actively building their own BiosLife Franchises.
