If Bios Life had a poster child, it would be Kurt Dowdle, Unicity Marketing Manager. No one has learned better than Kurt that Bios Life is best experienced first hand. Here, in Kurt’s own words, he explains why…
If I Only Could Take One Supplement, It Would Have to be Bios Life
By Kurt Dowdle, Unicity Marketing Manager |
The first day I came to work at Unicity I went to the website and clicked on the Franchise Builders Call featuring Todd Smith. One thing he said that has stuck with me was “If I could only take one supplement, it would be Bios Life.” At the time I thought that was a pretty extreme claim for a cholesterol product.
However, several months down my own road with Bios Life (I’m 70 lbs. lighter, I have new-found energy, and my total cholesterol level is down from the 300 range to 130), I can say with the same zeal as Todd did, “If I were limited to taking only one supplement, it would be Bios Life!”
I have since learned that Todd Smith doesn’t even have a cholesterol problem, he never has. He takes Bios Life for the many other benefits it provides. And as I look at the real reason I take Bios Life every meal without fail, I can see that it is the immediate benefits that really motivate me. |

1. |
I love the feeling I get from having stable blood sugar all day long. I can stay on any eating program I choose without the jitters or highs and lows that come from having my blood sugar levels all over the map. I no longer find myself staring into the candy machine at 3:00 trying to decide on Plain or Peanut M&Ms as a way to give me the necessary lift until 5:00. At 7:00, I am at the gym instead of sitting on the couch watching Wheel of Fortune and trying to recover from dinner. I like that when I go to bed, I am tired, not comatose. And because of Bios Life I have been able to do something I have not been able to do for many years, stay on a long-term weight loss program. |
 |
|
|
 |
2. |
I love the energy I feel from the B vitamins, the chromium, and other ingredients that sustain me throughout the day. If you click on your e-news from a couple of weeks ago you will see all of the ingredients that add vitality to your life every time you take Bios Life. |
 |
|
|
 |
3. |
I feel lighter and energized every day because I am regular. I am not weighed down by a clogged digestive track. I don’t use up my extra energy digesting food that doesn’t have enough fiber. |
|
I do like knowing that my cholesterol levels are in order so that I no longer live in constant fear of a second heart attack. However, I can’t feel my LDL cholesterol going down or my HDL levels going up. And nobody says, “Wow! Your cholesterol levels are looking really good. Keep it up!” The reality is that I take Bios Life more for how it makes me feel at 2:00 in the afternoon than the fact that it will keep me from having a heart attack in 5 years.
When I’m in the steam room at the spa and people ask me what I do, I say, “I work for a company that sells a product that makes me feel good all day! My blood sugar is stable from morning ‘til night. I have an added boost of energy from all its nutrients and it keeps me regular.”
I don’t mention the cholesterol thing because I noticed that when I would start talking about LDL, HDL, and triglyceride levels that everyone bolts for the door. They are, however, very interested in a product that helps them feel good right now. And Bios Life is that product.
I have to admit that I take a lot of Unicity products and supplements and they are, quite frankly, world-class in quality. But... if I had to take only one, it would be Bios Life.

Attention Dieters:
The Lean Control Plus System
Discover the System for Your Long-Term Commitment to Weight Loss
Last week we talked about why all diets should be based on a foundation of Bios Life. This week let’s look at what Unicity offers for those dieters who want to build on that foundation.
Generation X is Quickly Becoming Generation XL
We’re a country obsessed with thinness, yet increasing numbers of us are becoming fat.
 |
On average, every day in America more than 69 million adults are trying to lose weight[1], and more than $90 million dollars will be spent on diet foods, programs, and exercise programs[2]. But we keep getting fatter. In fact, two-thirds of adults are now overweight, and one-third are considered medically obese[3].
Poor diets and sedentary lifestyles—the contributing factors of obesity—are responsible for an estimated 300,000 deaths per year, making obesity a leading cause of preventable death[4].
The U.S. has an estimated 97 million overweight adults[5]. |
Obesity has Become Globesity
America is no longer the only traveler on the road to obesity. National borders, household incomes, and education no longer determine who is overweight and who is not. This isn’t a rich problem, or a poor problem. The World Health Organization estimates that 300 million people worldwide are obese, and another 750 million are overweight[6]. Now we all have something to lose.
That which does not kill us….makes us sick
Being overweight isn’t just a problem with how we look; it’s a serious and deadly hazard to our health. Complications due to excessive weight can occur in vital body organs, ranging from our heart and lungs to our joints and muscles and can even affect our vision.
 |
Overweight and obesity are known risk factors for heart disease[7], hypertension[8], gallbladder disease[9], osteoarthritis[10], sleep apnea[11] and other breathing problems[12], and some cancers[13], such as uterine, breast, colorectal, kidney, and gallbladder.
Obesity is the single most reliable predictor of type 2 diabetes[14]. It’s been projected that the number of persons in the U.S. with diagnosed diabetes will increase 165% between 2000 and 2052—from approximately 11 million persons to 29 million[15]. |
In 2000, it was reported that Eli Lilly & Co. was building the largest pharmaceutical factory in the history of the industry to be dedicated to the production of a single drug: insulin[16]. |
In addition, being overweight is associated with pregnancy complications and menstrual irregularities[17], and high blood cholesterol. It’s been estimated that, on average, each 10 pounds of excess fat produces an additional 10 mg. of cholesterol daily, the equivalent of eating one extra egg yolk every day[18].
Being Overweight is Also Hurting Our Pocketbooks
To add insult to injury, the economic costs of being overweight are tremendous. The National Institutes of Health estimated in 1995 the total cost of overweight and obesity to the economy at $99.2 billion—approximately $51.6 billion in direct health care costs, and $47.6 billion in indirect costs. Data from the National Health Interview Surveys suggest that nationally 39.9 million workdays are lost annually to weight-related causes[19].
Why We End Up Doing Nothing
So why don’t we just “diet?” What diet? Which diet? Do this, don’t do that, buy this, avoid that, eat more of those. High, low, none, all…it’s driving us nuts. And quite frankly, we’ve stopped paying attention. “Diet experts” are pulling us in every direction. It’s like being in a room where everyone is yelling—we can’t hear a thing.
It’s exhausting. We don’t know who to listen to anymore or which diet to follow. So we don’t do anything, and keep getting fatter. And that’s a problem.
For a moment, we need to turn off the TVs, turn off the radios, shut our eyes to magazines—and listen.
Shhh. Your Body is Trying to Tell You Something
Every day we’re bombarded with information about all aspects of dieting, weight management, and health. All sorts of medical facts are available at our fingertips. Yet facts alone rarely convince someone to lose weight or live a healthier life. For example, do you know anyone who quit smoking because the hazards of smoking were printed on the side of their cigarette pack?
The facts are in your head, but your body already knows how to lose weight. Your body would tell you that most every diet program out there is something that you do “to” your body—not “with” your body.
You don’t need a diet program; you need to help your body do what it’s already naturally good at.
Why Systems Work, and Programs Fail
Your body is a system. Every day it cleanses itself inside and out. Your body burns calories, produces or stores energy, and every day your body is busy building and repairing itself. You don’t need tons of books, magazine articles, or TV commercials to tell you how to do that.
A “program” is something outside your natural system that you force on yourself with willpower. It may have some temporary effect, but after awhile, what happens? You stop the program. A system keeps going.
Now ask yourself, ‘what if I could simply help my body do better than what it’s already doing? What if I could enhance my body’s natural “Cleanse, Burn, Build” process?’
If you asked that, you’ve finally asked the right question, and taken the first step on the path to meaningful weight management and health—and this time—your body wants to come with you. |
 |
|
The Lean Control Plus System: Doing What You’re Already Good At
Now that you’re working with your body, it’s the right time to discover Lean Control Plus. Lean Control Plus is a system, not a program. It works in harmony with your body’s natural system. Its Cleanse, Burn, Build components enhance basic bodily functions. It’s safe and effective.
Lean Control Plus helps you lose weight. While other dieters are gaining back the 20 pounds they just lost while on a “program,” you’ll be quietly, comfortably enjoying the benefits of Lean Control Plus. The system works in harmony with your body to: |
 |
1. |
Support the digestive system by removing toxins, excess water, and waste products. |
| |
2. |
Activate the natural fat-burning process. |
| |
3. |
Supply balanced nutrition for optimal health and vitality. |
 |
|
|
| |
Why Cleanse?
We live life surrounded by toxins. They’re in the food we eat, the water we drink, and even in the air we breathe. Contaminants can be transported through the bloodstream and affect every aspect of our bodies—causing headaches, fatigue, and water retention. Food can deliver similar waste in the form of excess fat and carbohydrates—which can result in serious health concerns. Cleansing our bodies of these unwanted substances is crucial to our health. It’s especially important when we want to manage our weight. Clearly, cleansing should be the first step in any effective weight management program. |
 |
|
|
| |
Why Burn?
Burning calories is a fundamental part of losing weight. As we age, our metabolism slows, and increased weight and decreased energy are often the result. The burn component enhances our bodies’ natural calorie-burning process, boosts our energy, and helps control our appetite. Fueling our metabolism has a dramatic impact on our weight management efforts. |
 |
|
|
| |
Why Build?
Most of us are skeptical of starting a new weight management program for fear of feeling tired, weak, and starved. Actually, in most cases, losing weight is the easy part. To maintain an active lifestyle and achieve a lean, healthy body, we must build. Building ensures that our body receives proper nutrition, added energy, and protein for optimal health. The result: we lose inches, increase energy, and our overall appearance is healthier than before. |
|
