If you’re asking those questions right now, let me tell you, I’ve asked myself those same questions. Let me tell you how I found my answers.
The only way I knew I’d be able to afford to attend an upcoming Unicity Convention would be if I did my taxes early. But now it was four days until Convention—and the tax refund had yet to arrive. |

My upline sponsor called and challenged me that if I was serious about making this a real business and obtaining the financial freedom I’d always dreamed of—then I simply could not miss attending this Convention.
I WAS serious. I knew what I wanted; I just didn’t know how I was going to get it. |

When a good friend heard of my dilemma, he offered the use of his credit card so I could attend the Convention—but now there was almost no chance of making it there on time.
I drove non-stop through Canada by myself, trying to avoid the spring flooding that ran across the highways, and arrived at the Convention one hour before it started! As soon as I could, I made arrangements with a couple of Convention attendees to sleep on the floor in their room that night.
I can’t tell you exactly what happened at the Convention—whether it caused a change because of the difficulties I had to overcome to get there, or whether it was something special that was said, but I spent the entire Convention at the back of the room in tears.
When I came home everything changed for me. Over the next few months I earned the Star Trip to Hawaii and one year later I became a Presidential Director. That Convention forever changed the path of my business and my future.
A Convention can change your life and your business. It can develop your personal belief in what you do. It can show you the importance of the products and show you new ways to grow your business. It shows what you are made of—especially when getting there isn’t exactly a walk in the park.
Being at the Convention with so many like yourself, feeling the energy, and capturing the magic is an opportunity few experience. It can ease your struggles and give you pride in your business and yourself. It will inspire you to a new level of belief and activity. These Conventions change people’s lives and create leaders. They refresh and motivate you.
As a member of the Franchise Advisory Board, and being involved with the planning for this Convention, I believe with all my heart that this is the Convention that will change the lives and outcomes for those who attend.

To Avoid Joint Pain You Should Protect and Maintain Your Joints
Practice these tips in order to avoid joint strain and injury. |
As we age, our bodies undergo wear and tear, and your joints are no exception. Injury and disease can take its toll on your joints. Practicing good joint protection is important for everyone, but especially for those suffering from Arthritis.
Trauma, such as a bone fracture or injury to the ligaments, muscles, and tendons around the joint or the cartilage within the joint, can lead to joint pain. Significant ligament sprains can impair the stability of the joint and make it susceptible to further damage. Tears of the cartilage in the knee can cause a block to the range of motion of the knee, also called locking of the knee. And fractures or ligament injuries to joints can contribute to joint destruction and osteoarthritis years later. Knees are the joints most likely to be affected by trauma and injury.
Protecting your joints is one of the most effective ways to avoid or relieve pain and prevent further joint damage. And there are many ways to do it, from practicing joint protection techniques to using assistive devices.
To avoid unnecessary joint strain and subsequent pain, follow these steps: |

Each day move each joint through its full pain-free range of motion. This will maintain freedom of motion in your joints. Keep movements slow and gentle, because sudden jerking or bouncing can hurt your joints.

Become educated on the difference between the pain associated with joint over-use and arthritic discomfort. Be aware of the activity that caused your joint to become stressed and avoid repeating that movement. Think of ways that you can modify the action. Keep in mind that joints are more likely to become damaged when they are painful and swollen.

Your fingers are used in almost all your day-to-day activities and stressful positions and techniques may increase the risk of developing deformities. You can perform most tasks in easier ways that put less deforming forces on your joints.

How you carry your body really affects how much strain you put on your joints. Proper body mechanics allow you to use your body more efficiently and conserve energy.

Don’t give your joints a chance to become stiff—avoid keeping your joints in the same position for a prolonged period of time.

Balance rest and activity throughout the day. Manage your workload throughout the day, so you can avoid overworking your joints. Work at a steady, moderate pace and avoid rushing. Rest before you become fatigued or sore. Alternate light and moderate activities throughout the day. And take periodic stretch breaks.

Ronnie Weston is the owner of Lifequest Enterprises, a sales and marketing firm based in Palm Harbor, Florida. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis in 1977 and a Juris Doctor from Hofstra University in 1980. She practiced securities law for eight years in New York and Florida, specializing in health care finance. She is now an entrepreneur and trainer, with over seventeen years experience in running her own business and providing consulting services to others.

Ronnie’s association with Unicity for the last fourteen years has been an extremely rewarding one. She has built an enormously successful franchise on a part time basis. Her success has given her the time freedom to serve on several Boards of charitable organizations, thereby making a difference in today’s world. Ronnie’s goal is simple: to teach audiences about the power of leverage and its relationship to achieving personal and professional success.
Ronnie’s true passion revolves around spending time with her family—her husband Evan, her two sons, Chad and Jake, three bonus children, and three grand children. She loves to cook and entertain and is currently writing a cookbook about the connection between food and family. Glade Paulsen
Born and raised on a small farm in southern Idaho, Glade Poulsen got started as an entrepreneur by buying and selling calves. As an adult, he devoted 20 years to founding, building, and selling construction businesses. |

After he discovered Rexall in 1991, he started traveling to Asia and developing a vision of international business. He went full time in 1997, and today his Unicity organization does significant volume in all of Unicity’s Asian markets as well as North America.
As one of Unicity’s top income earners, Glade remains focused on driving his business to new heights by helping new people launch large businesses of their own. He lives in Eagle, Idaho, with his wife Cindy, and they have seven children. Glade enjoys activities with his family like boating at Lake Powell, white water rafting on the rivers of Idaho, camping, four-wheeling, skiing, and gardening.
