A Halloween Horror Story—

If you’ve struggled with managing your weight, reshaping your body, or improving your health, and are nagged by health problems like bloating, constipation, and low energy levels, the problem may actually be inside you.

No, not inside your head…lower…

You could be carrying 25 pounds or more of intestinal toxic matter that’s blocking the absorption of essential nutrients and actually slowly poisoning your body. This build up of toxic byproducts of waste has been building up for years… and now you can’t eliminate it on your own.

What’s more, recent climate changes have produced a dramatic increase in cases of internal parasites being reported in North America. Thinking that you’re safe from contamination leaves you vulnerable to infection.

If you’re ready to take the next step to enhancing your health and managing your weight, then internal cleansing should be your long overdue first step.

Remember the old saying, “You are what you eat"? There’s certainly truth in it.

More accurately however: You are what you…
  • Digest (break down)
  • Absorb (take into the bloodstream)
  • Assimilate (take into the cells)

The problem is that not all the food you consume is properly utilized. Even assuming you eat the highest quality food available, you can’t achieve optimal health unless your digestive system is functioning at its peak.

Your body needs to properly digest nutrients and eliminate waste. The more efficiently your body performs those functions, the healthier you are likely to be. Which means effectively eliminating the waste, toxins, and maybe even parasites that are in your body is essential to good health.

Imagine your kitchen as if it has never been cleaned in the past 20 years. (Maybe this is too close to the truth for some.) Dishes piled to the ceiling, molding food on the counters, grease covering the stove, your cats filled the litter box in the corner years ago, the kids have tracked mud in from outside…

Now comes the REALLY scary part… Imagine fixing dinner tonight for your family in that very same kitchen.

Dirty pots and pans, used plates, glasses, and silverware… do you think that some of the contamination from the kitchen would be spread to the food and to your family?

The truth is our intestines are the “kitchen” of your body.

Every tissue in your body is fed by the bloodstream, which is supplied by the intestines. When your intestines are dirty, the blood is dirty, and so are your organs and tissues. It's the intestines that must be cleansed first before any effective enhancement in your health can take place.

Getting the bad stuff out of your body is so important that nature has provided you with 6 separate filters and cleansing and detoxifying organs: your colon, liver, kidneys, lymphatic system, lungs, and skin. All six of these systems can be overwhelmed with the amount of toxins that we absorb from our modern world.

Every day when you eat food, drink water, and breathe air, you’re exposed to and ingest preservatives, toxins, chemicals and pollutants. And no matter how careful you may be in the foods you choose to eat and in your lifestyle, you just can’t avoid them.

In some ways, you create—or destroy—your own health simply by eating, breathing, and drinking.

Junk foods, fast foods, and poor nutritional value foods are common in most people’s diets. So common, you’re rarely aware of what you’re consuming—and in what quantities. For example, each year the average American consumes 150 lbs of sugar and 566 cans of soft drinks or more appropriately named “liquid candy.” [1] According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, that’s equal to 52 teaspoonfuls of added sugars per person per day. [2]

Compared to 1981, in 2001 the average American consumed 45 large bags of potato chips—up 78%, 120 orders of French fries—up 130%, 190 candy bars—up 80%, 120 pastries or desserts—up 95%, 150 slices of pizza—up 143%. [3]

Even if you avoid junk food, you can’t stop breathing air or drinking water. Dr. James Pirkle, a scientist at the Centers for Disease Control states, “We are regularly, every day, exposed up to 50,000 chemicals.” [4]

About 2.2 billion pounds of pesticides are used in the U.S. each year. This amounts to eight pounds per capita. [5] According to experts, only 2% of this actually serves to protect the crops while the air, water, and the food itself absorbs the other 98%. In fact, more than 110 different kinds of chemicals are used on apples alone. What’s more, municipal water may contain up to 700 chemicals.

Only a fraction of these chemicals have been studied for their effects on humans. There have been no studies at all showing the consequences of using these agents in varying combinations with each other. [6]

Your body can’t properly digest and eliminate some foods and the substances they contain nor can it digest many of the chemicals you ingest—and this material becomes lodged, or stuck on the lining of your intestinal tract in the form of old and decaying matter and mucus.

Un-eliminated waste material accumulates on the intestinal walls clogging the absorption of vital nutrients, and creating a breeding ground for pathogenic bacteria, fungi, viruses, and even parasites. These pathogens excrete toxins, acids, and gasses, which cause inflammation to the intestinal walls. The small, inflamed capillaries, which line the colon wall, begin to absorb the toxic byproducts of your own waste—right back into your own bloodstream—which poisons all the organs in your body.

This blocks your intestines from fully absorbing nutrients from your food and supplements, it also lowers your overall energy, health, and vitality while setting the stage for disease.

The Clues if You’re Affected…

Internal cleansing is one of the most important steps—and usually the most overlooked—when attempting to lose weight, shape the body, flatten the waistline, improve the immune, digestive, and elimination systems, and achieve optimum health.

Brenda Watson, ND, CT, and Leonard Smith, MD, write in The Advanced Guide to Longevity Medicine:

“It is now known that a healthy, balanced digestive environment is a cornerstone of vibrant health. Conversely, an imbalanced digestive system can lead to chronic disease and reduced life expectancy.

“It becomes clear that many of the health problems commonly associated with aging are closely related to an imbalance in the intestinal chemistry and microbial flora. The next step, as practitioners, is to learn how we can better understand the intestinal environment, and how to help our patients achieve longevity and better health through digestive care and a balanced intestinal environment.”

In addition, Elson M. Haas, MD, founder and medical director of the Preventative Medical Center of Marin and author of several popular health books writes:

Through my 25 years in medical practice and health care…I have come to believe that the cleansing/detoxification process is the missing link in Western nutrition and one of the keys to real healing. I have seen hundreds of patients over the years transform regular or persistent illness into health and greatly improved vitality.”

One of the most renowned nutrition experts in the world, Dr. Bernard Jensen, DC, Ph.D., author of many popular health books states:

“In the 50 years I’ve spent helping people to overcome illness, disability, and disease, it has become crystal clear that poor bowel management lies at the root of most people’s health problems. In treating over 300,000 patients, it is the bowel that invariable has to be cared for first before any effective healing can take place.” [7]

Symptoms…

Dr. Linda Berry, clinical nutritionist, summarizes some of the symptoms of chronic intestinal distress in her best-selling book Internal Cleansing:

  • Allergy or intolerance to certain foods
  • Bad breath and foul-smelling gas and stools
  • Constipation, diarrhea, sluggish elimination, irregular bowel movements
  • Frequent congestion, colds, viruses
  • Flatulence or gas and frequent intestinal disorders
  • Frequent headaches for no apparent reason
  • Lower back pain
  • Lowered resistance to infections
  • Needing to sleep a long time
  • Pain in liver or gall bladder
  • Premenstrual syndrome, breast soreness, vaginal infections
  • Skin problems, rashes, boils, pimples, acne [8]

The rate of parasitic-related disorders in North America is skyrocketing. For example, pinworm is the most common worm infection in the United States. School-age children, followed by preschoolers, have the highest rates of infection. In some groups nearly 50% of children are infected. Infection often occurs in more than one family member—including mothers and fathers of infected children. Childcare centers, and other institutional settings often have cases of pinworm infection. [9] Parasites thrive wherever humans inhabit.

It’s extremely easy to come in contact with parasites. Contaminated water, undercooked meats, improperly washed fruits and vegetables, and public swimming pools are just some of the common sources of infections. Transmission from pets or other infected persons is also quite common. Overuse of antibiotics further adds to this problem as this can interfere with normal intestinal flora and lower the body’s resistance.
